Q: How long will it take me to get my Black Belt? A: Every child or adult at the school works at his or her own pace. When an instructor feels that a student is ready to move up in rank, that student
is put on a test with other candidates. On average, it takes about 3 to 4 years to earn a Black Belt.
Q: Are the rank tests difficult, and how long do they last? A: Tests vary in length of time, usually between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the level of difficulty and the rank being tested for. Rank is
something that is earned and never given away, you will work hard for your rank, and you will feel rewarded upon attaining it.
Q: What style of Martial Arts is taught at the school and where can I learn more about it? A: Shaolin Kempo Karate is the style of Martial Art taught throughout the Villari school system. You can
learn more about it on our History page, or at the system’s official web site.
Q: Do you teach weapons at the school? A: Yes, as in many Kempo Karate schools, there is an area of focus on weaponry. However, working with weapons is completely optional. Students may choose
to learn weapons such as: Sai, Bo Staff, Sword, Three Sectional Staff, Kama or Escrima Sticks.
Q: Will I be required to enter tournaments? A: Like weapons, tournaments are also completely optional. Some students like to compete and others choose not to. For those who like the competition,
we work hard at building a great tournament oriented student.
